A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shooting to death a 16-year-old boy at an Anaheim park over the weekend.
The shooting occurred Sunday evening, Nov. 10, in the parking lot area of John Marshall Park, at 2001 W. La Palma Ave. The boy was confronted by a group of suspects when one pulled out a handgun and shot him, Anaheim police said.
It was unclear if the boy was alone when he was approached. The teen, whose name was not released, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and died at a hospital.
Around 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, authorities arrested Samuel Galeno while they served a search warrant at a home in the 1800 block of West Tamara Lane. He was booked on suspicion of murder, police said.
Detectives declined to discuss a motive for the shooting.
