(KRON) — Authorities are searching for a suspect in a “brazen and violent” shooting that unfolded overnight Saturday in the North Bay, according to the Windsor Police Department.
Windsor police responded to the shooting at around 12:42 a.m. in the area of Esmond Circle, east of Highway 101. Arriving officers located five spent rifle rounds, Windsor PD said.
During the investigation, police canvassed the area to gather information and learned that a man was seen walking through the area “carrying what appeared to be a semi-automatic rifle,” authorities said. “The suspect fires five shots in rapid succession down the street, striking a nearby unoccupied vehicle and a fence.”
No injuries were reported as a result of the shooting, Windsor PD said.
The suspect remained unidentified as of Monday morning, and the investigation is ongoing. Windsor police are withholding additional information “that may compromise the integrity of the investigation,” the department said.
