One man died and three others were rushed to a hospital after an overdose incident during a party in Orange County early Sunday morning, police say.
According to Sgt. Armando Pardo of the Anaheim Police Department, officers were dispatched to 1500 Benmore Lane in Anaheim at 1:09 a.m. on a call for medical aid regarding an overdose.
Upon arrival, officers found the four unconscious men, one of whom was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two of the others were rushed to a hospital in critical condition, Sgt. Pardo said. The condition of the fourth man was not disclosed.
“A white powder substance was located nearby, [and] a hazmat unit was called out to the scene to collect samples and send them to a lab,” Sgt. Pardo added. “There was a party happening at the location.”
Evacuations were in place in the neighborhood due to the hazmat situation; residents were able to return to their homes after three hours.
The substance was not formally identified.
The names of the four men have not been released. No arrests were made, authorities said.
