Eight Orange County girls volleyball teams continue their seasons in the CIF Southern California Regional playoffs that begin this week.
The SoCal Regional is brackets tournament in five divisions. SoCal Regional champions advance to the CIF State finals.
CIF Southern Section Division 1 champion Mater Dei is in the SoCal Regional Open Division, an eight-team group. The Monarchs are home Wednesday against Torrey Pines in the Open Division first round. Mater Dei was CIF State Open Division champion last season.
The other four divisions play first-round games Tuesday.
CIF-SS Division 7 champion Laguna Beach is home against Marshall of Los Angeles in Division 4.
In Division 1 first-round matches, Santa Margarita is at Westview of San Diego, Huntington Beach is home against South Torrance and Orange Lutheran is at Palos Verdes.
Cypress plays at Long Beach Poly in Division 2. El Dorado is at home against Cleveland of Los Angeles in Division 3.
State finals are Nov. 22 and 23 at Santiago Canyon College.
