Rolls Royce driver flees scene after crash that leaves 2 critically injured

A massive four-car crash on Friday night left two people with critical injuries, and authorities are searching for the driver of a high-end luxury vehicle that was involved.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the collision was reported at about 9:50 p.m. in the area of Sherman Way and Sherman Circle in Panorama City.

Police said both a a Mercedes GT63 and a Rolls Royce Cullinan, two high-end luxury cars, were traveling at a high-rate of speed westbound on Sherman Way when the driver of the Mercedes clipped a Honda Civic that was attempting to turn left onto Sherman Circle.

The two occupants of the Honda were “severely injured” in that collision and were transported to a local hospital, where they remain in critical condition. They have not been publicly identified.

After that initial crash, the driver of the Rolls Royce veered left to avoid the Honda. During that process, the Rolls Royce drove onto the wrong-side of the road and collided with a Chevy Traverse.

That collision sent the Rolls Royce into a curb. Then, the driver exited the car and fled the scene.

The driver has not been found in the time since the incident. No description was released by police. Authorities are seeking the driver on the charges of reckless driving and hit and run.

The driver of the Mercedes, who was transported to a local hospital for treatment, was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving.

No additional details were immediately made available. It was not immediately clear if police believe the drivers of the Mercedes and Rolls Royce were engaged in a street race.
