Firefighters are battling a brush fire that ignited near homes on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu Wednesday morning.
The fire had burned about 5 acres in the area of PCH and Malibu Canyon Road, the Los Angeles County Fire Department posted on X shortly before 9:30 a.m.
Crews will also be fighting powerful Santa Ana winds blowing through the area Wednesday.

Video posted on Citizen showed smoke rising into the air as trees and brush were being blown by the gusty winds.
A high wind warning is in place for the area until 4 p.m. Thursday for northeast winds between 35 and 45 mph with gusts to 75 mph.
