Livermore man accused of making, selling firearms from home

(KRON) — The investigation into a man reportedly selling firearms illegally from his home in Livermore led police to seize multiple firearms, ammunition and narcotics, the Livermore Police Department announced Tuesday.

The Livermore PD’s Crime Prevention Unit began the investigation in October after receiving information about the man, later identified as Jesse Strickland, 49, of Livermore, allegedly selling firearms illegally from his home.

A search warrant served on Oct. 24 at Strickland’s home uncovered an unserialized AR-15 rifle, five additional rifles, two Glock pistols, a shotgun and two revolvers, police said. “Numerous” rounds of ammunition and high-capacity magazines were also found.

Authorities discovered two 3D printers along with unfinished pistol frames, unfinished milled AR-15 lowers and an AR-15 block. “Officers believe these parts were intended for the manufacture of privately made firearms,” Livermore PD said.

The search warrant also yielded methamphetamine, opiate pills, a scale, baggies and cash in various denominations, according to police. Authorities alleged that the items were intended for sale.

Strickland was arrested and booked into the Santa Rita Jail for felonies including:

  • Possession of a firearm
  • Possession and manufacture of undetectable firearms
  • Possession of ammunition
  • Possession of large-capacity magazines
  • Possession of methamphetamine
  • Possession of a controlled substance for sale
