Carlos Franco, Susan Sonne and Lamiya Hoque were lead in their respective races for the Buena Park City Council in early returns after the close of polls Tuesday night.
Sonne is an incumbent facing a challenge from John Dade, a financial professional, for the District 3 seat.

Franco leads in District 2 for a special two-year term to fill the seat vacated by Jose Trinidad Castañeda after his resignation in May. And, Hoque leads in District 4, where she and Paul Gonzales, a county safety representative, are vying to take the seat of longtime councilmember Art Brown, who is not seeking reelection.
