(KRON) – A person has died after a solo car crash on Interstate 80, said the California Highway Patrol Contra Costa.
A woman was driving a gold Toyota Corolla with a male passenger on westbound I-80 when she crashed into a large tree near Willow Avenue off-ramp, according to CHP.
CHP was alerted of the incident at 12:44 a.m. on Saturday.
Medical personnel pronounced the male passenger at the scene. CHP said the driver was taken to the hospital for major injuries but is expected to recover.
