The newly-crowned world champion Los Angeles Dodgers are headed home Thursday morning after beating the New York Yankees but it will take a little longer than expected.
The Blue Crew made history by overcoming a 5-0 deficit to win Game 5 of the World Series 7-6 and capture the 8th title in the franchise’s history.
The team’s plane was scheduled to arrive at Los Angeles International Airport at 3:25 a.m. but was delayed by more than four hours this morning, according to flight tracking updates on fightaware.com.
The flight is now scheduled to land at 8:15 a.m., still in plenty of time to celebrate with fans during a parade scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday.
The parade, expected to last about 45 minutes, will span a route of a little more than one mile.
The Dodgers will be traveling on double-decker buses, the team announced.
