The entries in Anaheim Beautiful’s annual Halloween home decorating contest are available for viewing every evening starting at dusk through Oct. 31.
A checklist of properties is posted on Anaheim Beautiful’s Facebook and Instagram accounts. This year’s winners were announced on Oct. 19 and will be displaying yard signs.

Halloween fun at local libraries
There are several Halloween activities planned at Anaheim Public Libraries this weekend.
The Canyon Hills Branch, 400 S. Scout Trail, is offering a Not-So-Scary Halloween Party from noon to 4 p.m. on Oct. 26, with ghoulies, princesses and superheroes. Come dressed up and follow the trick-or-treat trail for delicious treats and meet the fabulous characters from Kids Can Cosplay.
The Central Library at Broadway and Harbor Boulevard has “Haunted Anaheim: Local Ghost Stories” planned for 3 to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 27.

Coming on Nov. 3, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Anaheim Central Library will be Indie Author Day with workshops, panel discussions, local authors sharing their work and more.
And, on Nov. 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., a Native Art Festival is planned. The family friendly cultural event will be hosted at Founders’ Park, 400 N. West St. The event will feature food, live performances and free books.

Open house at Drizzle Studios
Drizzle Art Studios is offering a pre-holiday open house party at 212 S. Loara St. on Nov. 9.
There will be pop art featuring iconic Anaheim restaurants, Disneyland and more local landmarks and community spots.
The event is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and there will be appetizers from Cortinas, raffle prizes and a free Anaheim magnet set for the first 20 guests. For more information contact robert@drizzleart.com or 714-343-3043.
Creative Identity offers Halloween art
There are some great items at the downtown Thursday Farmers’ Market in the Creative Identity booth.
Creative Identity is a therapeutic music and arts program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
A new ceramics teacher has recently joined the Anaheim-based program and the students are doing great work. Everything is student-made and the Creative Identity artists get a portion of the sale and the recognition and encouragement that their efforts are appreciated.

Eat and support a beloved community event
Ruby’s Diner is supporting the Anaheim Fall Festival and Halloween Parade.
Have a meal at Ruby’s Anaheim and 20% of all food and non-alcoholic beverage sales will go to the events – you need to show a flyer that you can obtain by visiting anaheimfallfestival.org.

Speaking of the festival and parade, they are coming up on Oct. 26.
The festival is a free event from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Center Street Promenade. There is an old-fashioned Halloween carnival with local artists, live music, magic shows, costume contests for kids and dogs, float decorating, entertainment, treats and more.
At 7 p.m. the 100th anniversary Anaheim Halloween Parade will begin.
Doll collectors event coming next month
The Ebell Club of Anaheim is presenting the California Doll Collectors doll sale on Nov. 10.
The sale will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Brookhurst Community Center, 2271 West Crescent Ave. There will be vintage dolls, doll accessories and toys, teddy bears, holiday items and more.

Welcome Wagon Club of North Orange County busy
There is a social club with about 100 members from throughout the Anaheim, Brea, Fullerton, Placentia and Yorba Linda areas.
Members of the Welcome Wagon Club of North Orange County are new residents or newly retired widowed or empty nested and are looking for a way to make new friends.
They meet on the third Thursday of the month from September to May. Meetings are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Coyote Hills Country Club in Fullerton. There is a membership fee of $35, plus cost of luncheon.
