Police are searching for a teen suspect accused of stabbing a man during a violent group assault in Santa Ana.
In August, Eyving Vasquez, 18, and two other suspects were seen surrounding a male victim near Diamond Street and Fairview Street around noontime.
Video of the violent confrontation was captured by a bystander. As the victim scuffled with the trio, the three suspects, all armed with knives, stabbed him multiple times in the torso.
The victim was able to flee the area to safety as the three suspects calmly walked away.
The victim was later found lying on the sidewalk with multiple stab wounds to his abdomen near McFadden Avenue and Sullivan Street. Paramedics rushed him to a hospital where he survived the attack.
Investigators learned a dispute occurred between the suspects and the victim at a public park.
One of the suspects, Vasquez, remains at large. Police said he is a “documented gang member with a history of criminal activity.”
Investigators said he is known to frequent the area of 800 S. Townsend Street in Santa Ana.
He is described as a Hispanic male standing 5 feet 6 inches tall, 125 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
