Google Pixel Watch 3 is going big this year!
This time around, there’s a new option for a larger screen size—45 millimeters. It feels much roomier than the old screen size, which is still available.
The Pixel Watch is a great companion if you have a Pixel phone and use a lot of Google products, as they all work together.
New this year: a built-in voice recorder for the watch. I wish it would email you a transcript for more helpful voice memos, like my favorite Apple Watch App Whisper Memos.
What I love about this watch is having Google Assistant on my wrist. It’s still one of the smartest voice assistants around.
But let’s be real: 99% of the time, you’ll use this watch to find your phone – it can do that, too.
I love the precision of voice-to-text and how the watch will suggest replies related to a message you receive. Both make it much easier to respond from your wrist.
The Pixel Watch is also smart in other ways.
It can automatically detect when you go to bed and enable bedtime mode. This will disable distracting texts, calls and notifications while you sleep.
Speaking of sleep, the Google Pixel Watch 3 is compact enough to wear to bed. Fitbit is built in and provides the best sleep stats of any of the major smartwatches.
There’s also offline Google Maps, the ability to view your Nest camera feeds and you can use the watch as a remote for your Google TV. Plus when you call a number with a long wait, the watch can hold for you and alert you when it’s time to pickup.
I told you it was smart.
Of course, many of the major safety features are also here, including heart rate notifications, SOS emergency and fall detection.
Overall, the Pixel Watch 3 is perfect if you’re all in on the Google ecosystem. It’s a great companion to the pixel phone and the best way to use Google apps and services on the go.
As for battery life, I would say it’s fine. It’s nothing special, but I wasn’t thinking much about it. The watch will last a day of typical use; it’s just tricky if you want to wear it to sleep. You’ll have to find a time or two to charge it during the day.
Pixel Watch 3 prices start at $350. Right now, Google is offering a deal: If you buy the LTE version of the watch, you get two years of data included.
This means you can use your watch to send messages and listen to music even when your phone isn’t with you. Keep in mind, calling is not included in this free plan.
