Campbell business owners accused of selling stolen electronics

(KRON) — The Campbell Police Department (CPD) said it has arrested two business owners in connection with receiving and selling stolen electronics.

Questions still unanswered in Bob Lee murder trial

CPD said officers received a report on Oct. 12 about laptops stolen from a research lab that was “pinging their location” at the iTek Mobile Repair shop on South Bascom Avenue. Investigators said they also spotted stolen items for sale on the store’s website.

Officers identified the business owners as Thu Van Ho, 31, and Thanh Nguyen, 32, both of San Jose. Police said the suspects knew the products were stolen and “had the intention to resell them after they wiped them of previous data.”

Campbell police confirmed officers “seized 29 boxes of computers, phones, and iPads/tablets suspected to be stolen property and roughly 500 laptops” during a search of the store. Investigators said they found the stolen electronics packaged to be shipped to Hong Kong with the intent to resell.

Officials said Ho faces charges of receiving stolen property, conspiracy to commit a crime, violation of probation, and committing a felony while out on bail. Ho was already on probation and out on bail for a previous offense, also involving stolen items, when he was arrested for this case, reported CPD.

Nguyen was arrested for receiving stolen property, conspiracy to commit a crime, and had an outstanding warrant for a related offense, said CPD.
