(KRON) – A new trail in San Rafael is ready for trailers, the Marin County Parks announced on X on Saturday.
The new Eagle Rock Trail in Terra Linda/Sleepy Hollow Preserve is now open to the public.
The horseshoe-shaped preserve allows trailers to indulge in many activities, including biking, walking dogs, hiking and horseback riding.
The 1172-acre trail/preserve surrounds several San Rafael residential communities. This preserve connects with the Mission Pass Bike Path, according to the Marin County Park.
The trail is scenic. According to Marin County Parks, trailers can see Mount Tamalpais and Big Rock Ridge from Terra Linda Ridge Fire Road on a clear day.
Marin County Park rangers advise future trailers to take the following precautions and measures:
Stay on roads and trails to preserve sensitive ecosystems and to avoid trespassing on private property.
Be courteous and safety-conscious when sharing roads and trails.
Dress appropriately for the weather. Trails can be muddy during the rainy season.
Bring water.
There are no restrooms at this location.
Steer clear of poison oak.
After an outing, check for ticks.
In December, trailers can expect to see red toyon berries. According to rangers, buckwheat flowers blossom in the summer.
