SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A 17-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday in connection to an August shooting outside a San Francisco high school that injured another boy, the San Francisco Police Department announced Thursday.
The shooting happened on Aug. 21 at North Point and Polk streets just after noon, according to police. The location is approximately two blocks away from Galileo High School, which was in session at the time.

Arriving officers found a boy suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators with SFPD’s Community Violence Reduction Team identified the suspect as a 17-year-old San Francisco resident. A no-bail arrest warrant was obtained for the teen.
On Tuesday at around 4 p.m., officers located the suspect at Ocean Beach. The boy was arrested, and a loaded firearm was located and seized, SFPD said. Police also seized evidence “possibly related to the shooting.”

The 17-year-old was booked into the Juvenile Justice Center for a felony charge of assault with a firearm.
At the time of the shooting, Galileo High School was placed in lockdown for about an hour.
