Jets blew past at breathtaking speeds, while aerial performers had people holding their breath. Intermittent fog Friday afternoon caused some problems for the lineup, cutting the visibility some performers needed to fly or making it hard for viewers to see the action.
The airshow continues Saturday and Sunday; the military and civilian performers are scheduled to be the same each day. Tickets start at $30 to get inside the show gates on the beach and there are other seating packages available.
The show runs from 10:30 a.m. to about 4:30 p.m. each day, and many in the region can expect to hear the sound of the planes throughout the weekend.
