A wanted man from Hemet faces charges for reckless evading after he allegedly led law enforcement on a chase which ended after he crashed into a tree.
Hunberto Luna, 39, was arrested by deputies with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Wednesday evening.
According to a news release issued Friday, a deputy attempted to stop Luna’s vehicle for “multiple violations.” He did not pull over, instead taking off and leading authorities on a pursuit through Chino Hills.
The chase ultimately came to an end after Luna’s vehicle crashed into a tree near the intersection of Carbon Canyon Road and Carriage Hills Lane.
Luna was taken into custody and booked into the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga on a complaint of reckless evading. Officials said he also had an outstanding felony warrant for vehicle theft in Riverside County.
He remains in custody on $100,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
