A’s beat Rangers 3-2 in Coliseum’s last game

OAKLAND, Calif. (KRON) — In their last game at the Oakland Coliseum, the A’s beat the Texas Rangers 3-2 on Thursday afternoon.

The A’s took a 2-0 lead in the third inning and did not relinquish it. A’s star pitcher Mason Miller threw a 104 MPH fastball to record the final out, closing out 57 years of baseball at the classic ballpark.

The stadium was packed with A’s fans watching their team for the last time in Oakland — listed attendance for the game is 46,889. Team legends such as Rickey Henderson, Dave Stewart and Barry Zito were present as well.

Fans chanted “Sell The Team” throughout the game. Some fans ran onto the field and threw a smoke bomb in the game’s final inning.

After the game, A’s manager Mark Kotsay addressed the Oakland crowd. He thanked the Coliseum staff and A’s fans and started a “Let’s Go Oakland” chant.

The A’s won four World Series titles during their time in Oakland. They are expected to play the 2025 season in Sacramento before an eventual move to Las Vegas.
