Pedestrian injured after being hit by bus in Berkeley

(KRON) — A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by an AC Transit bus in Berkeley on Tuesday morning, the Berkeley Police Department said.

The crash happened at the intersection of Warring Street and Derby Street at 10:54 a.m. The pedestrian was hospitalized with a head injury.

“Because of the severity of the collision, the Department’s accident investigation team is conducting the investigation,” BPD said.

AC Transit said the bus came to a stop at a Stop sign, and after it started moving again, “a pedestrian came into contact with the bus.”

Nobody on the bus was injured, AC Transit said.
