Police arrested a USC student on Monday after she allegedly struck an assistant professor in the head with a metal water bottle during class.
Citing USC’s Department of Public Safety, campus student media said the assault happened after 11 a.m. in Dauterive Hall.
Los Angeles Fire personnel responded and treated the professor at the scene before transporting him to a hospital.
School officers detained and arrested the student, and she was later booked at the LAPD for assault with a deadly weapon.
The current status of the professor is not yet known.
