A suspected arsonist has been detained by police for allegedly setting fires with a torch in Beverly Hills.
The suspect was contacted by Beverly Hills police near the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Whittier Drive, according to Los Angeles Police Department Lt. Orozco said Thursday.
Orozco said the unidentified suspect was carrying a torch and could be seen on surveillance video setting the fires. No details were given about the type of torch being carried.
“All the fires are believed to have been set along Wilshire Bl in LOS ANGELES,” the Beverly Hills Police Department stated in an alert.
No further information about the locations of the fires or a motive was immediately released.
