A vehicle appears to have been struck by a Metro train in East Los Angeles Wednesday morning.
Aerial footage from Sky5 at about 10 a.m. showed the train had derailed as a result of the collision.
The cause of the crash has not yet been disclosed, but it appears the vehicle was struck on its side.
The collision was reported at 9:23 a.m., and a person was transported to a local hospital about a half an hour later, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. It’s unclear if that person was on the car or the train.
A second person who was on the train was also injured.
As a result of the crash, Metro announced that there is “no train service between Maravilla and Indiana Station due to train-auto incident.”
Buses have been requested to help transport passengers, Metro added.
