Mexican pop band, Maná, has decided to pull their collaboration with reggaeton star Nicky Jam, following his endorsement of former President Donald Trump.
The band did not mince words when they revealed their reason for removing the 2016 song “Pies a Cabeza” online. It’s a reggae version of the Mexican rock band’s 1992 hit “De Pies a Cabeza.”
“Maná doesn’t work with racists,” their translated post from Spanish to English read on Instagram.

“For the last 30 years Maná has supported and defended the rights of Latinos around the world. There is no business or promotion that is worth more than the dignity of our people,” the caption on Sunday’s post said. “For this reason, today Maná decided to download his collaboration with Nicky Jam from “Pies a Cabeza” from all digital platforms.”
Jam’s endorsement of Trump’s presidential campaign against Vice President Kamala Harris came this past Friday during a campaign rally in Las Vegas. However, Trump misgendered the singer.
“Do you know Nicky? She’s Hot!” the former president told the crowd.

Jam appeared onstage wearing a Make America Great Again hat and shook Trump’s hand.
“Oh look! Come here. I’m glad he came up,” Trump said realizing he had made a mistake.
“It’s an honor to meet you, Mr. President. People that come from where I come from, they don’t meet the president,” Jam, born Nick Rivera Caminero, told the crowd. “So I’m lucky. We need you. We need you back, right? We need you to be the president.”
The “El Amante” singer was born in Massachusetts and moved to Puerto Rico as a child.
Jam is among many musicians who have endorsed the 78-year-old’s third presidential run. Others include Jason Aldean, Kid Rock, Billy Ray Cyrus, Sexxy Red, Lil Pump and Kodak Black.
Jam’s endorsement comes days after Taylor Swift announced she was backing Harris’ campaign. She joins Ariana Grande, John Legend, Cardi B and Carole King who have been open to their support of the former senator’s presidential run.
