(KRON) – A man has died as a result of a solo car crash in Hayward on Sunday morning, according to California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred westbound on Interstate 580 near Grove Way onramp. A grey Nissan truck flipped over and crashed into an embankment.
CHP arrived at the scene at 9:37 a.m. According to CHP, it is suspected that the driver fell asleep behind the wheel prior to the crash.
The driver was the only occupant of the truck, authorities said.
