(KRON) — A driver who was allegedly involved in a sideshow near the Bay Bridge early Thursday morning was arrested after leading police on a chase, according to the California Highway Patrol. At around 12:39 a.m. officers observed a white Infiniti allegedly engaged in sideshow activity near the bridge.
Responding officers attempted to stop the vehicle near the Treasure Island on-ramp, however, the driver fled. Officers followed and a pursuit initiated that came to an end when the Infiniti crashed into a tree on Mandela Parkway.
The driver and passenger took off on foot but were apprehended following a short foot chase. They were transported to a hospital for medical clearance and booked into Santa Rita Jail on multiple charges, including reckless driving and felony evading, police said.
