HALF MOON BAY, Calif. (KRON) — Contract negotiations went down to the wire with teachers in Half Moon Bay. Just before midnight Wednesday, a tentative agreement was struck between the Cabrillo Unified School District and Cabrillo Unified Teachers Association, avoiding a looming strike that was set to begin Thursday.
The deal includes a 6 percent pay raise that will be retroactive to July 1, 2023, plus a $100 per month stipend for family health care benefits.
Teachers will need to vote on the deal that was struck between the union and the school district before it is finalized.
The 130 teachers and 3,000 students in the district are expected to be at school today.
