The thousands forced to evacuate their homes were in a frenzy on Wednesday.

“Luckily I was able to grab a few things, and the cat,” Gino Lewis, an evacuee, told KTLA. “I just got out of there as soon as I could. As soon as I got out of there I realized I could have been dealing with a life or death situation had I stayed really any longer at all.”

Gov. Gavin Newsom issued a State of Emergency on Wednesday, which will deploy resources not only for the Bridge Fire, but also the Airport and Line fires ravaging Southern California.

Those affected by evacuation orders can head to the following evacuation centers:

Hacienda Heights Community Center: 1234 Valencia Ave., Hacienda Heights, CA 91745

Jessie Turner Health and Fitness Community Center: 15556 Summit Ave, Fontana, CA 92336
