(KRON) — A wildlife rescue hospital in the North Bay is pausing new patient admittance in September as it transitions to a temporary location. WildCare’s temporary two-year relocation will allow for the construction of a new facility at the original San Rafael site, according to the nonprofit.
The process of moving to the transition site will happen from Sept. 11 through the 29th, and no wildlife patients will be accepted at the main facility at 76 Albert Park Lane. The rescue is advising the community that if injured or orphaned wild animals are located, call the WildCare hotline at (415)-456-7283 to be given species-specific instructions for where patients should be brought instead.
After the move to the San Rafael transition site is complete, WildCare will provide the address for new patient intakes. The rescue said it will reopen at the temporary site on September 30.
“WildCare is incredibly grateful to our partner organizations for admitting and caring for our wildlife patients over this period while the Wildlife Hospital transitions out of the building it has occupied since 1974,” the organization said.
More information on the relocation and construction can be found on the WildCare website.
