(KRON) — Authorities are looking for a suspect in connection to a Sonoma County hit-and-run that injured a 7-year-old girl over the weekend, California Highway Patrol Santa Rosa announced in a Facebook post.
The collision happened Saturday around 6:54 p.m. on Green Valley Road just north of Sullivan Road in Graton, a census-designated place in west Sonoma County. According to CHP, a white Toyota Prius (pictured below) is at the moment determined to be a “vehicle of interest.”
Authorities say the girl was walking with her mother and other children when a white vehicle struck the 7-year-old, CHP said. The girl fell to the ground but only sustained “minor” injuries.
The suspect vehicle drove away northbound on Green Valley Road. The right passenger side mirror of what authorities believe to be the suspect vehicle was detached after the crash, according to CHP.
The detached mirror likely came from a 2010-17 white Prius, CHP said. However, authorities did not make it clear it came from the Prius captured on surveillance footage below.
The photos captured a white Prius before the crash. A local business contacted CHP with a video of the vehicle that matched the car described in the crash. Investigators would like to speak to the owner of the Prius pictured below, CHP said.
