Tustin quarterback Michael “Butter” Tollefson, who enrolled at the school in late March after leaving JSerra, has been ruled ineligible to play football for the Tillers this season, according to the CIF Southern Section.
The senior’s transfer eligibility status on the section website is listed as “denied” and notes that Tollefson is “ineligible in football at Tustin High School until March 27, 2025.”
The football season ends in December.
Tollefson, a dual-threat QB who is committed to Arizona State, didn’t play in the Tillers’ season-opening victory against El Toro on Friday.
On Monday afternoon, Tustin administrators and coach Anthony Lopez didn’t immediately reply to messages about Tollefson’s eligibility.
The section office also didn’t immediately reply to a message.
Tollefson (6-1, 195) played last season at JSerra. He spent his first two seasons of high school playing for San Juan Hills.
Tollefson is rated as the No. 40 impact player in Orange County on the OCVarsity Hot 150 list.
Tustin plays rival Foothill (1-0) on Friday.
