Disney California Adventure will add a new Coco show celebrating Dia de Los Muertos during the upcoming Halloween season as the Anaheim theme park prepares to build a new boat ride based on the 2017 Pixar animated film.
The new “Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia” musical show will run several times a day from Friday, Aug. 30 through Nov. 2 in Paradise Gardens at Disney California Adventure.

Disney announced during the D23 fan event that construction will begin on a new Coco attraction in 2026 at Disney California Adventure — without revealing where the new ride will be built or when it will open.
The Oscar-winning “Coco” film follows the journey of 12-year-old Miguel Rivera into the colorful Land of the Dead in search of his family’s true history. Along the way, Miguel meets the charming trickster Hector, famous musician Ernesto de la Cruz and deceased members of the Rivera family.

The new Coco show suggests the home of the world’s first Coco ride could be in the neighborhood of Paradise Gardens.
The most logical place to build a new Pixar ride would be in DCA’s Pixar Pier — right next door to Paradise Gardens. A few unused attraction pads lay beneath the Incredicoaster track.

A Coco themed land was teased as a potential DisneylandForward expansion project — suggesting the new attraction could be built in the parking lot south of the Pixar Place Hotel.
Visitors will access the theme park expansion area on the west side of Disneyland Drive via a themed bridge that is expected to connect with DCA between Pixar Pier and Paradise Gardens.

For now, Coco fans will be able to enjoy the new “Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia” show that will feature a new storyline, costumes and songs from the film — including “Remember Me,” “The World Es Mi Familia” and “La Llorona.”
Miguel fans can pose for photos with a hand-animated puppet version of the film’s hero during the Plaza de la Familia event in DCA.
Live music will play on the Paradise Gardens Bandstand during the holiday festival while seasonal food will be offered at Paradise Garden Grill.
