A man was killed Tuesday night, July 17, in a hit-and-run crash in the area of Jamboree Road and Sea Vista Drive in Newport Beach, police said.
The collision occurred around 9:40 p.m.; the exact location of the collision was not provided by police.
What caused the crash remained under investigation.
The driver of a silver Toyota Camry left the area without stopping to help the pedestrian, police said.
At at Jamboree and Santa Barbara Drive, though, police detained him, a 30-year-old Santa Ana resident, who was arrested and booked on suspicion of felony hit-and-run.
