A 19-year-old Santa Ana man was arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting another man near a major intersection in Santa Ana last month, police said in a statement.
Shortly after midnight on June 30, Fernando Manuel Lopez, 20, of Santa Ana, was found lying with a gunshot wound in the upper torso in the southbound lanes of Bristol Street, near the intersection of Bristol and Memory Lane. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Adrian Lopez, 19, was arrested last week near his Santa Ana home and booked on suspicion of murder. After executing multiple search warrants, police seized the firearm used in the shooting and other evidence, police said.
Details on the motive behind the shooting and the connection between the suspect and victim were not released.
