Firefighters were battling a brush fire in Corona on Monday afternoon, June 24, that had burned 50 acres and was threatening buildings northeast of the juncture of the 91 and 15 freeways.
Cindy Solis, a spokeswoman for the city, said the fire was burning near Mandevilla Way and Via Blairo. That area is marked by twisting roads and large open areas with vegetation.
All that rain, and now all that brush on fire in Southern California. What gives?
Twenty additional fire engines as well as firefighting aircraft had been ordered, Solis said.
