Noteworthy: His two-out single in the bottom of the eighth inning drove in the winning run for the Patriots in their 2-1 win over St. John Bosco in the CIF Southern Section Division 3 championship game. The shortstop had two of the Patriots’ six hits in the game and was involved in turning three double plays during the week that included a 3-0 win over Los Alamitos in the semifinals.
