Irvine police are asking for the public’s help finding a driver who investigators say caused a fatal crash.
Allen Yangkaou Lee, 67, of Irvine, died Monday night, a few days after Thursday’s rollover crash involving a 2004 Toyota Corolla near Culver Drive and Trabuco Road, police said.
Lee was heading north on Culver approaching Trabuco at about 4:30 p.m. and appeared to swerve and lose control of the car when the driver of a Honda Civic made a right turn against a red from Trabuco to north Culver, according to police. They said the Honda’s driver did not stop following the crash and kept going north on Culver.
Lee was taken to a hospital in grave condition, but Monday night he succumbed to his injuries.
Police said they are looking for a silver or beige 2008-11 Honda Civic or Civic Hybrid with “unique racing-style decals on the lower doors.”
Anyone with relevant information was asked to call Detective Christopher Ostrowski at 949-724-7047.
