Jake Evans’ double in the bottom of the eighth inning drove in the winning run for Los Alamitos in a 2-1 win over Mission Viejo in a CIF Southern Section Division 3 baseball quarterfinal at Los Alamitos High on Friday.
The Griffins (24-7) will be home against Beckman (23-6-1) in the semifinals Tuesday.
Jack Lorenz pitched six innings in which he gave up one earned run to Mission Viejo (17-14). Ryan Deck pitched the final two innings to get the win.
Damon Valdez went 3 for 3 and Cole Belfanti went 2 for 2 for the Griffins, who finished third behind Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley in the Surf League.
Los Alamitos is No. 5 in this week’s Orange County Top 25 and Mission Viejo is No. 18.

Beckman 6, Newbury Park 1: Zach Ireland pitched a complete game for the visiting Patriots (23-6-1).
Ethan Rhee had a two-run hit in the sixth inning to drive in Connor Perea and Ken Tomitaka. Jack Terry had two hits for Beckman.

In Division 3:
Beckman 6, Newbury Park 1: Zach Ireland pitched a complete game for the visiting Patriots (23-6-1).

Ayala 7, Canyon 4: The Comanches lost at Ayala in the quarterfinals. Jonathan Sandoval had two hits for Canyon (16-14-1).
Canyon, a CIF-SS and CIF Southern California Regional champion last year, has won 39 games over the past two seasons.
In Division 5:
Chino 9, Calvary Chapel 1: The Eagles’ playoff run ended with a quarterfinals loss at Great Park.
Calvary Chapel finished 16-11.
In Division 7:
Buena Park 10, Rancho Christian 8 (9 innings): Jesus Ramirez hit a two-out, bases-loaded single to drive in two runs in the top of the ninth inning for the Coyotes (24-6) in Temecula.
Ryan Prescott pitched the final three innings for Buena Park, which will play at home against South El Monte (21-6) in the semifinals Tuesday.
Prescott had five strikeouts. Manuel Rivera drove in two runs for the Coyotes.
Buena Park has scored 35 runs in its three playoff games.
Oxford Academy 14, Jurupa Valley 1: The visiting Patriots (16-14-1) advanced to the semifinals with a road win. They have outscored their playoff opponents 22-2.
Oxford Academy plays at Desert Christian of Lancaster in the semifinals Tuesday.
Desert Christian beat Santa Ana 5-2 in the quarterfinals Friday.
In Division 8:
Pacifica Christian 12, New Roads 0: The Tritons continued their dominant run in the playoffs with a victory over visiting New Roads.
The Tritons have outscored their three playoff opponents by a combined 38-6.
They will be home for their semifinal Tuesday against San Bernardino.
