Orange Lutheran boys water polo coach Jacob Moore, who guided the Lancers to a CIF-SS championship in 2022, has resigned after two seasons, he announced.

“I am prioritizing my health and pursuing a different career path,” he recently said. “I will be done with all coaching for now.”

In addition to his post at Orange Lutheran, Moore has coached club and within the Olympic Development Program.

He took the helm at Orange Lutheran before the 2022 season and led the Lancers to the Division 1 title.

It was the school’s first section crown since 2016.

Orange Lutheran finished 10-18 last season and missed the playoffs.

Moore arrived at Orange Lutheran after guiding the Huntington Beach girls for three seasons.

“We are looking for someone who is a good fit for OLu and looking to help us grow the program,” said Orange Lutheran aquatics director Brenda Villa, also the girls water polo coach at the Trinity League school.
