Corona del Mar and Newport Harbor lead a group of six Orange County boys volleyball teams that were selected Saturday for the eight-team Division 1 bracket in the CIF Southern Section playoffs.
Corona del Mar (19-4), the Surf League champion, is the No. 3 seed in the division and Newport Harbor (26-6) is the No. 4 seed. Loyola (25-1) is the No. 1 seed and Mira Costa (32-3) is the No. 2 seed.
Four other county teams are also in the Division 1 bracket: Huntington Beach, Tesoro, Edison and Mater Dei.
The Division 1 playoffs use a pool-play format, while the other CIF-SS divisions are single elimination.
The eight Division 1 teams are divided into two groups (Pool A and Pool B) and there are three rounds of pool play, beginning Wednesday. The winners of each pool meet in the championship game May 11.
Newport Harbor is the defending Division 1 champion.
In Division 2, Santa Margarita (20-4), the Trinity League runner-up, is the No. 3 seed.
In Division 3, San Clemente (22-6), the South Coast League champion, received the No. 1 seed. Fountain Valley (22-5) is the No. 2 seed and St. Margaret’s (27-4) is the No. 3 seed. Last year, St. Margaret’s reached the Division 3 final.
In Division 5, the No. 1 seed went to Godinez (26-1), the Golden West League champion.
The playoffs begin Tuesday with wild-card round games in some divisions. In most divisions, first-round games are Thursday and second-round games Saturday, April 27.

In Division 1 on Wednesday, Mater Dei is at Newport Harbor and Edison is at Corona del Mar.
In Division 2 on Thursday, Servite is at Los Alamitos and Orange Lutheran is at Beckman.
In Division 3 on Thursday, Calvary Chapel is at University and Northwood is at Capistrano Valley Christian.
In Division 5 on Thursday, Oxford Academy is at La Quinta and Sage Hill is at Fullerton.
