The OC Fair’s Imaginology event brings science, technology, engineering, arts and math, or STEAM, activities to families in a hands-on, interactive way. The fun continues Sunday, April 14.
Activities and demonstrations will be spread throughout the OC fairgrounds including in multiple halls, an outdoor activities area, a makers square, Heroes Hall and also the Centennial Farm and its barn.
People of all ages will be able to explore a variety of STEAM activities from woodworking to science experiments, with plenty of opportunities for crafting.
The Costa Mesa fire and police departments will be onsite to teach families about fire safety and field operations. The Coder School will teach young ones how to write code using computer software. The Costa Mesa Sanitary District will demonstrate how to properly sort waste. And there are many more groups participating and activities to do.
Performances are planned throughout the day including shows from the Rooted Band, Mariachi Juvenil Herencia Michoacana and the Muya Community.
The event takes place 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the OC Fair & Event Center. Admission is free, and parking costs $12. Food options will be available for purchase.
