Brandon Camarillo has been hired as varsity football head coach at Capistrano Valley Christian, the school announced Monday.
Camarillo was offensive coordinator last season at St. Margaret’s. He previously was a varsity assistant coach and freshman head coach at San Clemente and was an assistant coach at El Modena.
He replaces Eric Preszler who has accepted an athletic director position out of state. Preszler, who coached the Eagles for five seasons, remains at Capistrano Valley Christian through the end of this school year.
Capistrano Valley Christian last season finished 8-2 overall and 5-0 in the Mesquite League. The Eagles’ losses were to St. Margaret’s in a nonleague game and to Beckman in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 10 playoffs.
