Gusty Santa Ana winds led to damage across Orange County on Thursday, March 14, including at a Lake Forest apartment complex where a large tree fell, displacing about a dozen residents, officials said.
The tree collapsed around 10:30 a.m. on the complex in the 2100 block of Lake Vista Drive, said Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Greg Barta.
At least three units were damaged, though the extent of the damage was not immediately available.
No injuries were reported, Barta said. The Red Cross was at the complex on Thursday assisting those affected.
Nearby in Mission Viejo, a light pole toppled around 10 a.m. and damaged a parked Volkswagen Bug near Crucero and Mustang Run, said Orange County sheriff’s Sgt. Frank Gonzalez.
No one was in the car at the time.
Officials from Southern California Edison were working to repair the fallen pole.
