Additional items include puppets of supporting characters, a set piece of the characters’ wooden ship, the Leakin’ Lena, and a variety of rare merchandise from the show.

“Time for Beany,” created by animation legend Bob Clampett in collaboration with Warner Bros., premiered on KTLA on Feb. 28, 1949—just two years after the station began operations. The series became an immediate success, gaining a fanbase that included Frank Zappa,  Jimmy Stewart and Albert Einstein.

The show won the first-ever Emmy Award for Outstanding Children’s Programming in 1950. The show’s popularity led to a national syndication deal and later inspired an animated spinoff, “Beany and Cecil,” in the 1960s.

Items from “Time for Beany” are a part of “The Bob Clampett Collection” auction. More information can be found here.
