The future looks bright and sunny as Southern California storms come to a close

Don’t worry, Southern California, you’ll be able to take a romantic Valentine’s Day stroll without an umbrella on Friday night.

Friday won’t be completely dry, however, as the National Weather Service notes. Scattered showers, meaning brief and unpredictable bouts of rainfall, are expected to move from north to south throughout the day.

Those in Ventura and Los Angeles counties can expect those scattered showers to end by the late morning, while down south in Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego counties should be in the clear by the evening hours.

The scattered showers shouldn’t bring more than trace amounts of rain to each community.

As for the weekend, a sunny Saturday will bring what the NWS called “pleasant” conditions. Maximum temperatures can be expected between the mid-60s and low 70s in L.A., Ventura, San Bernardino and Riverside counties.
