(KRON) — A woman died following a Sunday afternoon car collision that left her trapped underneath a recreational vehicle (RV). Investigators said it does not appear that speed or intoxication were factors in the incident.
The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety Patrol and Fire personnel responded at 4:49 p.m. to the 900 block of W. Cardinal Drive for a report of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
Fire personnel were able to remove the trapped victim to immediately attempt life-saving measures, but she was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital upon arrival.
Investigators said the crash occurred while the victim was helping the driver of the RV raise the car on leveling blocks in the home’s driveway.
The collision remains under investigation by the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT).
