ORANGE COUNTY GIRLS SOCCER TOP 10
(Records through Sunday, Jan. 19)
1. Santa Margarita (11-0-1): The Eagles bounced back from a 1-1 draw against Mater Dei to beat Orange Lutheran 2-1 in the Trinity League. In the triumph against the Lancers, Felicity Nguyen and Cora Fry netted goals.

2. JSerra (11-4-1): The Lions opened the Trinity League with victories against Orange Lutheran and Mater Dei last week. They beat Orange Lutheran 2-1 behind nine saves by UCLA signee Daphne Nakfoor and defeated Mater Dei 1-0 on a penalty kick goal by Wake Forest signee Sydney Schuler.

3. Mater Dei (8-3-4): The Monarchs will seek their first Trinity League victory when they play host to Orange Lutheran on Tuesday night. Mater Dei is 0-1-1 in league.

4. Newport Harbor (11-2-3): Don’t forget about the Sailors in the Sunset League. They’re 3-0 and tied for first place after 3-0 wins against Corona del Mar and Marina last week.

5. Edison (10-5-2): The Chargers recovered from a loss against Newport Harbor to blank Marina (4-0) and Fountain Valley (1-0) in the Sunset League last week.

6. Los Alamitos (9-5-3): The Griffins play host to Edison on Thursday in another Sunset League showdown. Los Alamitos is tied for first place with Newport Harbor.

7. Huntington Beach (9-2-4): Standout sophomore Alexis Katter scored first in a 2-1 loss against Los Alamitos last week in the Sunset League.

8. Orange Lutheran (5-3-1): The Lancers lost at home against JSerra and Santa Margarita by matching scores of 2-1 in the challenging Trinity League last week.

9. Canyon (9-1-2): The Comanches lead the Freeway League with a 3-0-1 record after the first round.
Previous ranking: 9
10T. Rosary (6-4-3): The Royals completed the first round of the Pacific Coast League with a 3-0-1 mark, good for first place.
Previous ranking: 10
10T. Troy (9-2): The Warriors pace the Crestview League with an impressive 4-0 record. Senior Kaia Villanueva has netted two game-winning goals in the stretch.
