Forced Entry first, Super Corredora last at Santa Anita

Forced Entry and jockey Juan Hernandez extended trainer Bob Baffert’s dominance of the Santa Ysabel Stakes at Santa Anita on Sunday as Super Corredora continued to struggle since her Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies victory.

Forced Entry ($7.60) took the lead from stablemate French Blue at the top of the stretch in the 1-1/16-mile, Grade III race for 3-year-old fillies and completed Baffert’s sixth consecutive win and 11th since 2003 in the Santa Ysabel. Bank Shot got up for second.

Super Corredora, sent off at 8-5, broke slowly with jockey Hector Berrios and finished last for the second time to remain winless since the John Sadler-trained filly led all the way at the Breeders’ Cup to clinch the 2-year-old fillies championship.

Forced Entry earned 50 qualifying points to join the contenders for the May 1 Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs. The Santa Anita Oaks is April 4.
