(KRON) – WNBA champion Sabrina Ionescu had a brief homecoming “back where it all started,” which is the Bay Area. Ionescu and the New York Liberty recently defeated the Golden State Valkyries at Chase Center (81-78) on Wednesday.
The following day, the Bay Area native posted photos of the Valkyries court with her friends and family on Instagram. The point guard was even wearing a Bay FC shirt. The Walnut Creek native captioned the post, “Bay love.”

“Just a Bay Area kid with a dream.. back where it all started,” Ionescu also captioned.
This game was the third time the Liberty has defeated the Valkyries this season, including preseason, but the first time in Chase Center.
