A man suspected of stealing an Alhambra Police Department SUV is in custody Tuesday morning following a high-speed pursuit that ended with a K-9 taking down the suspect in East Hollywood.
It was unclear how the suspect took possession of the police SUV in Alhambra before leading authorities on a chase across Los Angeles County freeways at speeds well over 100 mph.
The pursuit came to an end when the driver stopped and got out of the vehicle near North Oxford Avenue and Lemon Grove Avenue in East Hollywood.
Video showed the suspect being chased by a police K-9 as he tried to flee on foot but was eventually taken down.
The handcuffed suspect was seen with a cut on his head as he was taken from the scene to a local hospital for treatment.
The suspect has not been identified and no possible motive for the incident has been released.
